Calling All Westchester County Residents, Employees: 9/11 Remembrance a Community Affair
It’s hard to imagine 11 years have passed since the horrific events that rocked our nation on Sept. 11, 2001. Prudential Centennial Realty licensed real estate professionals have always been conscious of their communities. Somehow, now we all feel just a little bit closer. We see it in local residents too; people are more willing than ever to lend a hand, share what they have (even if it’s only their hearts) and acknowledge their neighbors’ needs.
Throughout the month of September a number of events will take place in Westchester County – not to remember the horrors — to embrace the strength and unity we have come to accept as our new normal. We’re all in this together.
We at Prudential Centennial Realty encourage you to give throughout the month of September. Please give of your time, your money or your mind as our nation honors heroes and mourns the lost.
National Day of Service, Remembrance Activities Planned
On Sept. 11, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., visitors to The Rising at Kensico Dam Plaza, the county’s 9/11 memorial, will have a chance to donate food and participate in projects to honor soldiers stationed overseas. At 7 p.m., the county will hold its memorial ceremony at The Rising.
Every resident has something to offer. From Sept. 9 through Sept. 15 the following are just a few among the many planned in Westchester County and throughout the nation:
- blood drives
- book drives
- food drives
- art projects
- trail and park clean ups
